The company
#BMBC Construction has successfully led the design and technical studies for a
social housing project for civil servants under the Ministry of Public Service,
Labor and Employment.
Announcing the project at a press conference held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the Minister of Civil Service, Labor and Employment, Mr. Venuste Muyabaga, revealed that the Ministry had decided to entrust the task to BMBC Construction in consideration of its undisputed experience and performance in the realization of real estate and residential projects in Burundi.
According to Minister Muyabaga, this social housing project, which will gradually be extended to civil servants in other ministries, aims to improve the well-being of government employees, which will have a positive impact on their productivity. The project also aims to improve living conditions for pensioners.
The project involves the construction of 400 affordable housing units in Bujumbura and 200 in the interior of the country. It will be carried out by a cooperative of the ministry's executives and staff, with funding from the Banque de l'Habitat du Burundi (BHB) and other partners.
In addition to individual homes, the sites developed as part of this project will feature communal spaces and facilities including schools, a hotel, playgrounds and recreational areas.
BMBC Construction is a subsidiary of BMBC Group, specializing in architecture and construction since 2012. In addition to residential projects for individuals in their plots, it is currently executing the largest real estate projects in Burundi, including Diaspora City Gahahe, Diaspora City Mirroir I and II, and Diaspora City Tenga.
