The summer of 2025 will remain a memorable season for BMBC Group. It has seen the largest wave of house deliveries to customers, particularly in the real estate projects known as “Diaspora Cities” in Gahahe, Tenga, and Miroir 1.
This campaign was planned to coincide with the massive presence of members of the Burundian diaspora who came for vacations or “diaspora week” activities in August. Several customers have already moved into their homes in the Cités de la Diaspora, after intense finishing work dictated by deadlines set with the beneficiaries. The campaign also concerns customers who have built on their own properties, in Bujumbura as well as in all other provinces.
As most of the houses were purchased on credit, the campaign began with an orientation session for customers or their representatives on the terms and conditions for handing over the houses, including the obligation to repay the loans regularly and to take out insurance. The conditions also include other requirements for good neighborliness with other occupants.
A delegation from the Banque de Gestion et de Financement (BGF), which supports the financing of some projects, also participated in the discussions, in particular to inform customers about the terms and conditions for repaying loans.
Also present were executives from the insurance company SOCCAR, who took the opportunity to offer the clients various products to protect their homes, including fire insurance.
Together, the Diaspora Cities comprise approximately 1,000 homes and constitute the largest and most modern real estate development in Burundi's history. The real estate investment began in late 2021 with the Diaspora City Gahahe project, which has more than 100 homes in finishing stages.
All of BMBC Group's “Diaspora Cities” are designed according to a uniform design. While ensuring freedom for each occupant, the cities will be governed by collective security, hygiene, and sanitation systems, as well as a number of conditions intended to enable harmonious cohabitation among occupants.
Community facilities have been planned, including hotels which will include conference rooms, recreational spaces such as public swimming pools, supermarkets, hair salons, restaurants, etc.
